Blizzard Entertainment is ushering in the Lunar New Year with an expansive celebration in Diablo Immortal, introducing Tong-Shi’s Renewal, a grand festival running from January 22 through February 13, 2025. This comprehensive update brings new events, significant gameplay changes, and lucrative rewards for players across all platforms.
The celebration centers around Tong-Shi, a deity from the Xian pantheon, who invites players to participate in daily tasks for festive rewards. Players can earn Red Bags and Tseym through various activities including dungeon runs, Elder Rifts, elite monster hunting, and facing the fearsome new boss, Jingun, the Eater of Mountains. These Red Bags can be gifted to friends or clan members, fostering a spirit of community while providing valuable rewards such as Legendary Gems and Rare Crests.
A major highlight of the update is the introduction of the Hunter’s Moon Phantom Gallery, where players can use Litra currency to draw from a pool of prestigious rewards. The gallery features coveted items including Masterwork Gem Selection Chests, Eternal Orbs, and the unique Builder’s Beacon, which grants 60-day access to Elder Rift portals.
The update introduces a groundbreaking Gem Surge event, representing a significant advancement in gem crafting. Players can earn Polished Jade to upgrade their Legendary Gems to unprecedented quality levels, with a total of 22 Polished Jade available throughout the event. This system allows for systematic progression from quality 3 through 5, providing clear upgrade paths for dedicated players.
The Celestial Serpents Phantom Market debuts as another cornerstone of the celebration, offering an exclusive cosmetic set that can be enhanced through new Tempering and Polishing mechanics. These improvements not only alter the appearance of the serpentine cosmetics but also introduce new combat animations and finishing moves.
Significant balance changes arrive across multiple character classes, with particular attention to the Barbarian, Demon Hunter, Necromancer, Tempest, and Wizard classes. Notable adjustments include increased damage output for various abilities and modified crowd control durations, aimed at improving overall gameplay balance.
The update also brings substantial quality-of-life improvements, including an increased Resonance Cap to 13,024, enhanced monster density in specific zones, and improved inventory management features. The addition of conditional drop rates for Legendary Gems provides a safety net for players, ensuring a 5-Star Legendary Gem drop by the 50th attempt if none are received in the previous 49 tries.
Technical improvements include streamlined UI elements, additional stash tabs for purchase, and refined quest tracking systems. The update also addresses various bug fixes and introduces new ways to earn Reforge Stones through Lieutenant Fizriah in Westmarch and Battleground participation.
Server maintenance will be conducted in two phases: January 21 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. PST for Oceania, China, East Asia, Southeast Asia, and Europe, followed by January 22 from 12 a.m. to 2 a.m. PST for the Americas.
