Leading computer manufacturer Acer has launched its latest premium laptop, the Swift 16 AI, delivering impressive performance and a gorgeous OLED display while falling short in one crucial area – audio quality. The $1,200 device showcases Intel’s latest Lunar Lake technology and remarkable portability, yet its subpar speaker system hampers what could have been an ideal entertainment laptop.
The Swift 16 AI distinguishes itself with exceptional portability for its size class, weighing just 3.4 pounds and measuring a mere 0.6 inches thick. This makes it significantly lighter than competitors like the HP Spectre x360 16 and Apple MacBook Pro 16, which typically exceed 4 pounds. Despite its slim profile, the aluminum chassis maintains impressive rigidity with minimal flex.
At the heart of the device lies Intel’s Core Ultra 256V processor from the Lunar Lake family, featuring eight CPU cores split between performance and efficiency cores. The processor’s neural processing unit (NPU) delivers 47 trillion operations per second, exceeding Microsoft’s 40 TOPS requirement for Copilot Plus certification. This architecture demonstrates balanced performance, particularly excelling in single-core operations.
