In a recent PlayStation State of Play livestream, Sony announced a new third-person action game called Saros from Housemarque, featuring Rahul Kohli as Arjun Devraj. The game is set to be released in 2026 for PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 5 Pro. Saros builds on the core gameplay mechanics introduced in Housemarque’s previous title, Returnal, and promises to deliver an engaging and emotional experience.
Saros takes place on the mysterious planet Carcosa, which is haunted by an ominous eclipse and constantly changing shape. Players will take on the role of Arjun Devraj, a powerful Soltari Enforcer who is on a mission to find answers about the lost off-world colony. Rahul Kohli, known for his roles in Midnight Mass and The Haunting of Bly Manor, will lend his voice and likeness to the character, bringing Arjun to life in a stunning performance.
The game’s creative director, Gregory Louden, described Saros as an evolution of the Housemarque gameplay-first experience. One of the key distinctions between Saros and Returnal is the permanent resources and progression system. After every death, players will face a changed world, but they will also have the opportunity to choose and permanently upgrade their loadout from an evolving set of weapons and suit upgrades. This means that every death will be valuable, and players will have the chance to come back stronger to overcome the challenges they face on Carcosa.
Housemarque celebrated its 30th anniversary with the announcement of Saros, and the studio is excited to share more about the game’s gameplay, art, audio, music, technology, and story in the coming months. The first extended gameplay reveal is expected later this year, giving fans a closer look at what to expect from this highly anticipated title.
Saros is not the only exciting announcement from the State of Play livestream. Other notable reveals include release dates for Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater and Borderlands 4, as well as new trailers for upcoming games like Monster Hunter Wilds and Shinobi: Art of Vengeance. The livestream was filled with trailers, release date announcements, and surprises, making it a must-watch for PlayStation fans.
As the release date for Saros approaches, fans can look forward to an emotional and powerful character study that explores the cost of creating a new future. With Rahul Kohli’s captivating performance as Arjun Devraj and Housemarque’s signature gameplay, Saros is poised to be a standout title in the PlayStation lineup.
Stay tuned for more updates on Saros and other exciting games coming to PlayStation 5. The State of Play livestream has set the stage for an exciting year of gaming, and Saros is just one of many highly anticipated titles on the horizon.
