Volvo has announced that its EV drivers will gain access to Tesla’s extensive Supercharger network across North America starting November 18, dramatically expanding charging options for its customers. This integration will open up more than 17,800 Tesla Supercharger stations throughout the United States and Canada, marking a major milestone in the standardization of EV charging infrastructure.
The move represents a substantial expansion of Volvo’s charging network, complementing its existing access to thousands of fast-charging points. To access the Tesla Supercharger network and other North American Charging Standard (NACS) stations, current owners will need to purchase a specialized adapter priced at $230 in the United States or $310 CAD in Canada. These adapters will be available through authorized Volvo retailers beginning November 18, though availability for the EX30 model will be delayed to a later date.
Looking forward, Volvo is taking steps to eliminate this additional expense for new customers. The company has announced that the NACS adapter will be included as standard equipment with its 2025 model year vehicles, including the flagship EX90 SUV, EX40, and EC40 models.
