Lexus has unveiled pricing for its 2025 GX lineup, revealing significant price increases across the range, particularly for its adventure-focused variants. The premium automaker justifies the higher price points with substantial upgrades to the SUV’s off-road capabilities and standard features, marking a bold evolution for the luxury off-roader.
The latest iteration of the GX series demonstrates Lexus’s commitment to blending luxury with genuine off-road prowess, starting at $65,285 for the base Premium trim – a $1,085 increase from the previous year. However, the most notable price adjustments affect the Overtrail and Overtrail+ models, which see jumps of $3,680 and $3,145 respectively, pushing their starting prices to $72,930 and $80,395.
These substantial increases come with compelling improvements, particularly for adventure enthusiasts. Both Overtrail variants now feature a standard one-inch suspension lift, boosting ground clearance to an impressive 9.84 inches. This enhancement comes alongside an array of sophisticated off-road technology, including an electronically controlled locking rear differential, Crawl Control, and Electronic Kinetic Dynamic Suspension System (E-KDSS).
The 2025 model year brings democratization of certain luxury features across the range. Memory settings, previously reserved for higher trims, now come standard even on the base Premium model. This allows drivers to store their preferred positions for the seat, steering wheel, and side mirrors. Additionally, all GX models receive the Torsen limited-slip center locking differential and Lexus Safety System+ 3.0 as standard equipment.
Under the hood, Lexus maintains the powerful twin-turbo 3.4-liter V6 engine from the 2024 model, producing 349 horsepower and 479 lb-ft of torque. This modern powerplant, which replaced the previous generation’s V8, pairs with a sophisticated 10-speed Direct Shift automatic transmission. However, unlike its Toyota Land Cruiser sibling, the GX has yet to receive the more fuel-efficient I-Force Max hybrid powertrain option.
The pricing structure across the full range reveals careful positioning of each trim level. While the Overtrail+ model’s price now exceeds the Luxury trim – a departure from their equal positioning in 2024 – other variants see more modest $500 increases. The Premium+ will start at $69,750, the Luxury at $77,750, and the range-topping Luxury+ at $81,750, all including the $1,350 delivery, processing, and handling fee.
This pricing strategy reflects Lexus’s confidence in the GX’s position within the luxury SUV market, particularly as demand for capable off-road vehicles continues to grow among affluent buyers. The increased investment in off-road capability, especially in the Overtrail variants, suggests Lexus is serious about competing in the premium adventure vehicle segment.
The 2025 GX will continue to be manufactured at Lexus’s Tahara plant in Japan, maintaining the brand’s reputation for exceptional build quality. American dealerships can expect to receive the new models in early 2025, giving potential buyers time to consider which trim level best suits their needs and budget.
